Chicago Thin Crust Pizza Sauce Recipe

Does any anyone have a good "Chicago Style Thin Crust" pizza sauce recipe?  I've looked everywhere and cant seem to find one.

I'm sure that there are several sauces that can be used with a thin-crust Chicago pizza, but one of the simplest sauces is the one used by Home Run Inn Pizza for its thin crust pizzas. As indicated at http://www.homeruninn.com/frozen/original_thin_crust/varieties/18_oz_cheese.html, the sauce comprises only tomato puree, water, oregano, salt and black pepper. Having researched the matter, I know that the puree is an Escalon product, most likely a thick one that is diluted with water. I would suggest using the Escalon 6-in-1s, without diluting it.

I suspect other members with greater familiarity with the thin-crust Chicago style than I may be able to suggest other possible alternatives.

I am from Chicago as well and Obbie's Pizza is the best IMO.  Small little take-out only place near Midway Airport.  Anyway, I live in Las Vegas now and I make my own pizzas.  I have a sauce recipe that I really like.  I can give it to anyone that wants to try it.

I live in Las Vegas now also.  The pizza here really does suck.  The closest I have found to Chicago style thin crust is at Chicago Brewery (which is only so-so at best). 

Can you share your sauce recipe?

I have heard Metro Pizza in Las Vegas is pretty good.  Have you tried them?  Perhaps not an authentic Chicago style, but possibly good nevertheless.

We actually go to Metro all the time.  Metro at the Ellis Island casino is by far the best of the chain, and they have a buy 1 pizza, get 1 free special on Thursdays.

you try out rosatis in LV? they have decent pizza...better for sure then so-so

We have 2 Rosati's locations very close to us.  It's my favorite "Chicago-style thin crust" in Las Vegas.

I also live in Las Vegas now and I agree Rosatti's is good.  There are several locations in town (just look in the phone book).  I don't know where you live but I am at Sunset and Ft. Apachee (near the Durango curve on 215).  You should also try Amore Taste of Chicago on Durango just North of Flamingo.  They are from Chicago and have thin and deep dish pizza and Vienna Beef products too.  Reasonably priced. 

I would love to find a recipie for sauce similar to Rosatti's or Barones (anyone remember them?)
