I have been making pizza's for ages and have just joined this forum so I thought I would share my pizza sauce with you, it is ideal for Chicago style pizza.
Enough for one pizza
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
2 teaspoons of oil
salt to taste
1 teaspoon of mixed italian herbs
1 teaspoon of oregano
3 cloves of garlic (or how you like it)
1 large dash of worcster sauce
1 large dash of tobasco sauce (can be left out)
2 tablespoons of ketchup
1 knob of butter
Instuctions
Fry garlic for 30 secs, add tomatoes and heat. Add herbs worcster sauce, tobasco sauce and ketchup and stir in. Add salt to taste. Reduce for 20 to 30 mins till the sauce is thick and strong. When the sauce is ready add a knob of butter to richen up and shine the sauce, allow to cool.
This sauce can be frozen for upto 6 months.
