Got it from the friendly folks at Escalon.

Escalon has gone out of their way to give me what I ask for.  :)

Stanislaus, OTOH, ignores me.  >:(

I see that they compare the Bonta pizza sauce w/basil to the Super Dolce w/basil.  IMO...the Bonta is much better as it can stand on it's own without adding any other tomato product.  On the other hand, I just tried the Super Dolce and it is way to sweet to stand on it's own...AND I still can't get past that citric acid taste.

I will say this... there is a carryout/bar/pizza shop about 10 minutes from where I live that uses the Stanislaus Full Red, and they have the best pizza sauce I think I've ever tasted.  I've tried getting some tips from them concerning the citric acid taste but they aren't talking.  The owner did tell me that he uses spices only and has never used sugar.  I've even tried asking his high school employees a lot of questions when the boss isn't around, but they said the spices are already in a bag and they just add it to the sauce. :(
