Internet order Mozz cheese?
« on: February 09, 2009, 12:58:03 PM »
Hey ya'll!!  I've been buying Kraft Mozzeralla now for too long.  After growing closer to this board, have to ask the question.  Where can I find good mozz to put on my NY style pizzas?   No grocer around here stocks _Good_ cheese (whole, etc)

Internet order, specialty stores?

thanks for any tips!   ;D

igourmet.com   I've been ordering cheese from them from years, reasonable prices and the quality has been excellent!   They have alot of imports that work great with pizzas.

I like Diced,its smaller then the shreded and people say it covers better(I have no Idea though}
I liked the east Coast Blend but I enjoy the whole mike better,,,The bag you are showing is a 50/50 blend  I think?
Try the Whole milk.....
I also would look for a local distribitor before I order anything...Shipping can kill you.(cash and carry}My last case od Grande Diced was $63 for a 30lb case,,,thats $10.50 per 5lb bag.
Pretty cheap if you ask me.....
Also try the Whole loaf WM
Don't stred it,,,make small chunks.....
I eat pizza in NYC (joe and Pats} and they use Grande WH chunks and this is the best I everrrrr tasted................Only thing I need is the secret sauce.JT

JT,

I always enjoy your posts about your cheese experiences, but have you considered using the "Spell check" button? No offense, but sometimes your statements are somewhat confusing.   :chef:

I thought you tried the diced Grande already? Unless there's a major difference between the shredded and diced, I would assume it doesn't make that much of a difference. Or does it?

JT,

I didn't mean to offend you but sometimes I have hard time following you in terms of trying to understand what you mean.

Anyway, did you see a difference in the diced compared to the shredded cheese in regards to its melting characteristics?

Btw, I don't know about you but wine always gives me the worst hang-overs, so I usually just stick with beer.  :)

JT,

Love the NY Dolls.

I think G'n'R did a cover of one of their most famous songs, "Human Being" by JT and David.

There was also a tribute to Johnny Thunders on there. Great album.

Btw, you're spoiling your friends :)

Dude,

I didn't say I was a huge fan of the NY Dolls. But I loved their music.

I'm originally from Germany, and back then it was very hard to obtain some tapes or records from the NYC underground. That's why I was kind of elated that G'n'R did a number on them! Or covered them, I should say.  ;D

If you're that close to JT, get me an autograph!! Just kidding...
