big green egg or similar ceramic smokers
« on: May 31, 2008, 08:30:01 AM »
Has anyone had any experience in baking pizza in a ceramic smoker like the Big Green Egg or similar smokers that are designed for bbq?  Mine is very good at holding a steady temperature.  What would be the optimum temp. for pizza? Any tips will be appreciated.  thanks

geedee,

If you click on the icon next to the address bar at the top of any page, and do an expanded search of the forum using the terms BGE, Big Green Egg, and Kamodo, you should find a lot of past posts of the members. Maybe other current members can supplement what you find or respond directly to your questions.

Thanks for the info.  I had started out in the general search and didn't get a response.

geedee - I have a large big green egg and cook pizza's on it pretty often.  I get the dome temp stabilized to around 500* with the plate setter in place, feet up and my pizza stone on the grate.  They cook in about 6-8 minutes.  I haven't had a bad experience yet.
