How about a Pizza Recipe Contest?
What do you think about having a Pizza Recipe Contest here at
pizzamaking.com where the contestants submit their recipes in
a RECIPE CONTEST SUBMISSIONS thread, and allow other members to
try the recipes and post their nominations for best recipe in
a RECIPE COINTEST NOMINATIONS thread. Winners get their recipes
published on pizzamaking.com website with credit to their name
as the originator.
Some ideas on how the contest could be done...
* Open a new thread.. RECIPE CONTEST SUBMISSIONS
and make it a sticky posts. Basic rules & info in
the opening message.
Allow recipes for any aspect of pizza making.
-Any style pizza
* Allow 2 to 3 months for the submissions to be posted and then
close the RECIPE CONTEST SUBMISSIONS thread. During that time,
allow members to PM the contestants with questions and allow
the contestants to edit their recipes. Do NOT allow any
discussions to take place in the RECIPE CONTEST SUBMISSIONS
thread. At the end of the submission period lock the thread.
* Open a new thread.. RECIPE CONTEST NOMINATIONS and make
it a sticky post. Basic rules & info in the opening message.
* Allow 6 to 12 months for the members to test the various
recipes and make nominations for the best recipes in the
RECIPE CONTEST NOMINATIONS thread. Do NOT allow any
discussions to take place in the RECIPE CONTEST
* Allow management of pizzamaking.com to determine the top
recipes and categories based upon the nominations made and
allow members to vote for the final winners in various categories.
We could have winners for various kinds of recipes. I imagine we
could have 6 to 12 winners depending upon how many submissions
and nominations were made. Perhaps the voting could be eliminated
too and just allow management of pizzamaking.com to determine
the top recipes based upon the nominations made.
After the contest is over, it's possible to combine all the winning
recipes into a single file, add a user interface and sell them on Ebay
on CD or via download. Proceeds to be shared amongst the winners
and pizzamaking.com. This would also serve as a promotional tool
Good idea, bad idea?
Is it feasible?
