Hi folks,
I've been on the watch for something to try in place of the 6-in-1's everyone likes (because I haven't found them here). Our local Sprouts market, which has stores in AZ, CA, CO, and TX started carrying (or maybe I never noticed them before) their own brand of natural canned tomato products. I tried a can of the crushed tomatoes on my Chicago pizza last night.
They seem pretty tasty and not too acidic (although by the time I remembered to taste them, I'd added seasonings and honey for the pizza). I got some, but not a ridiculous amount of juice after draining for 1/2 hour. The can says they're in puree.
Not that I really have the option, but has anyone tried these as well as the 6-in-1's and some of the other brands and can offer their impression of how they rate? I haven't tried them on NY style yet because I'm trying to mess with only one variable at a time, and right now I have a mozzarella experiment (homemade) and a dough experiment (trying Canadave's) each in the queue.
Thanks,
Michelle
