Is there any way to successfully bake a nice Neapolitan/NY pizza using Caputo 00 in an electric home oven?  or have i just wasted my money on 10 lbs of flour?

It all depends on how you define "successful" and "nice" Neapolitan style pizza. If you are looking for a Neapolitan pizza like those made using a very high temperature oven that can deliver temperatures above 800 degrees F, then the answer is no. You won't replicate such a pizza in your home electric oven. The question then becomes how far are you prepared to go to modify dough recipes and methods to achieve something that will satisfy you even if not authentic. You are not the first one to face this dilemma. I, and countless others, have faced it. See, for example, http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,6666.0.html and, more recently, http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,8256.msg71197.html#msg71197 (including my comments and observations in Reply 3 in that thread). In situations like this, I invariably refer people to the following thread in which I provided links to my best efforts and of others using the Caputo 00 flour in the context of a standard unmodified home oven: http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,3673.msg30851.html#msg30851. See especially Replies 3, 4 and 7.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response, Peter.  I've been baking a ton lately and thought the transition to pizza dough would be seamless.  Little did I know that it would be an equipment issue that may prevent me from achieving the results I desire.  I've actually given some thought to building an adobe oven in my yard to reach those temperatures unattainable in my electric oven.

I totally agree: building your own oven is great! and it doesn't have to cost too much.

There are some excellent plans and info here: http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/
