Settebello, Henderson, NV

Last weekend I had the pleasure of dining at Settebello, in Henderson, NV.

I have to say, the meal was fabulous.  Easily one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten.  8.5/10

We started with the grande salad.  It was reasonably priced, and easily split three ways.  The veggies were fresh, and the salad was not overdressed, a nice change indeed.  We ordered a couple margheritas and one diavola.  Everything came to the table promptly, and steaming.  My wife and I opted for "non-sliced", my brother was not so brave.  The bread, cheese, sauce, basil, everything was spot on.  The pizza folded into a wallet perfectly.  We were all very pleased, especially after major disappointments with Pizzeria Bianco and Grimaldi's (Phoenix and Vegas).

The staff was super friendly, though they divulged some info that saddened me a little.  I learned that the delicious calzones we had for dessert were not a product of Settebello.  I dont know why that saddened me, but for some reason I really wanted the calzones to be theirs.  Also, a couple staff members remarked about the owner not really showing up there much, but occasionally popping in and making some dough.  Oh man, if they hire someone there with Chris Bianco's passion coupled with Settebello's oven, ingredients, and recipe, well, there would be a several hour wait every night.

I cannot wait to go back.

The owner is actually a member here at Pizzamaking "Sumeri".  He was on a vacation recently possibly explaining his absence.  Otherwise he's there pretty often.  They do have some solid pizzaiolo's as found on these youtube videos.

I was at Settebello in Henderson today & it was for the most part a very good experience. Decent service & the green salads were crisp. The Caprese though featured not quite ripe & flavourless tomatoes. The pizzas were quite good if not picture perfect. Tasty espresso & Tiramisu. My Margherita was enjoyable, but I thought the crumb structure was unremarkable & had a pretty mild taste too. I wouldn't say bland, but no pronounced flavours either. Still it was as good as or better than all but the very, very best pizzerias. Nice leoparding too, so overall 8.5/10. I've had a few people say that the crumb was very good when they were there, so perhaps it was just an off night. It was also interesting to watch the Pizzolo juggle three pies in the oven at once.

It was a bit frustrating finding the place though. Apparently they moved a year or so ago, now being situated across the street from the Green Valley casino. But they still had the wrong address up on the website. I did call earlier in the day just to confirm that they were open, but no one mentioned a new venue. So I ended up in a rather deserted strip mall wondering just where they were. Spotty cell service led to flipping through a phone book at a nearby gas station. However, Settebello doesn't have any listing in the Las Vegas/Henderson phone book that I could find. Not in the business (grey) pages or in the yellow pages under pizza or restaurants. I finally found a pay phone, got their number through directory assistance & divined their new address. I was told on the phone that they were having trouble updating their web page, but as I am writing this several hours later, I see that someone has already corrected the address on the website. There is still a disagreement about how late they are open between the website & the door signage. Recommended, as long as you have the right address in hand.

Glad you found it, it happens to be in a very nice area, as long as you can find said area.  Next time, you must have the cannoli.  Its life altering.
