Thinking of getting an IR thermometer to measure your oven temperatures? You can buy some models that measure 900F or so for about $60. Or you might be interested in this one that can measure up to 1600F. It's really overkill, you don't need a thermometer that goes this high, but I'm selling it at a bargain price if anyone wants a more robust thermometer. One nice thing about this one is that it goes high enough to measure a lot of oven dome temperatures as well as the deck. Usually the dome is way over 1000F, so most guns can't measure temps that high.
This thermometer works perfectly, has never had any issues and comes with the factory manual. It does show normal wear, some scuffs & scratches, but nothing that keeps it from working properly. It has an ultra bright pointing laser built in, so it puts a laser circle at the exact point where it is measuring the temperature. It's got a bunch of features built in, min max alarms, graphing recent measurements, adjustable emissivity, etc. But just point & pull the trigger to read a temperature. List price (new) is $779. Really. This model is meant for industrial use (steel mills, electricians, etc) & is not a cheap knockoff. The manufacturer (Raytek) just got bought out by Fluke who has changed the thermometer color to yellow & raised the price to $830. But it has the same features & specs as this one.
My employer owns the same model that I have & I have free access to it, so mine has just been collecting dust. So if anyone here is interested, I'm looking for $145 + actual shipping cost. Paypal. Probably $10 - $15 would get it shipped to you by priority mail, with insurance & a tracking number. If there is no interest, then I'll probably put it on Ebay for $200. Here's some specs, compared to the Harbor freight one (which is also a decent choice, if you want to spend less money).
