Just ordered some Grande cheese

Just bought a 5 Pound bag of 50/50 blend (mozzarella/provalone) grande shredded cheese

Cant wait to see if i notice any difference, after this bag is out i'll probably try the part skim then the whole milk.

Im pretty amped!

Anybody have any suggestions for the best way to dethaw the frozen shredded cheese after i freeze the leftovers? I'm gonna divide everything up into smaller bags to put in the freezer.

I purchase from Verns as well. I've never tried their 50/50, i just get the 5 pound bad of diced part skim. What i do is portion out the cheese where each portion would equal what i put on 1 pie. I then vaccum seal it and pop it in the freezer. If you take it out a day before and put it in your fridge it will be perfectly thawed out. Typically you should get 3-4 months in the freezer with no ill effects.

Snowdy, I recently ordered and received a 6lb lbock of Grande whole milk mozz fron Vern's.  They were great to work with.  This was my first time using Grande.  I found it way too salty. 

Have you tried it yet?

I got the 50/50 part skin mozz and provalone which ive never tried as a combo before..

Hi, do you have a link to the Grande cheese on their website?  I looked on there and found 6lb. blocks of mozzarella but it doesn't say what brand it is or anything.

P.S.  So far the best cheese I have been able to find in my area is from GFS.  It's their Mozzarella & Provolone blend.  I really want to try the Grande but I can't find it around here.
