anyone recognize this oven?
« on: October 21, 2009, 11:48:07 AM »
I am wondering if anyone knows the manufacturer of this oven.  It is for sale in my area.  I know its small,  I am guessinig 36 inch,  but it could be a good oven for one of my friends.  thanks -marc

never seen one like this before, but it looks like a nice buy !

how it is powered ? is it gas ? or is it wood ?

how much do they want for it ? .... if a good price I'd grab that ! ... that would fit anywhere.... backyard, on your deck too.

It could be an Ambrogi.

Have a look here: http://www.ambrogi.it/ing.htm and then click on "Products" and select the "Jolly" model.

Looks very similar to me.

Howdy

Never used one.  I said it's nice because it is constructed of similar materials that were used in my home oven.  I have a M.A.M.   In fact, the Ambrogi may be constructed better.  Mine works perfectly so I would expect that it performs in a like manner.

Zaman,  funny you should ask.  I just got it home today.  It is sitting about 20 feet from my other oven right now which I built a few years ago.  I got a deal on this thing that I could not pass up so I decided to take it in.  Its a little rough right now,  but I will clean her up and see what it can do.  Its internal dimensions are 42X12!  super low dome!  My other oven is 16 tall in the middle and works great so I cannot wait to fire this one up.  Since it has wheels on it now,  that will be soon,  in my driveway probably this coming weekend.  I'll let you know how it turns out if I get it going.  -marc

Well results are in.  This oven cooks great!  I hate to say it,  but probably a little better than my homebuilt.  Cleaned her up a bit and she runs like a charm.  I really don't think this oven has ever hit the temps it did today.  Soot was burning off for a long time.  Did some 28 hour vasarano based san felice doughs.  Wicked nice results. Averaged a touch over a minute.  Light, crisp, and complex.  Here are some pictures.

Matt,  it needs a roof built over it to stay outside as the top is open.  At this point I really don't know what is in store for it,  but I have a couple of ideas.  Surely it will be in the garage most of the winter.  thanks guys.  -marc
