Adjusting Bowl Clearance

I have noticed that the wire whisker attachment for my Thunderbird 20 QT (similar to Hobart 20 QT) is making contact with the bowl when it spins around.

How do I adjust the clearance between whisker and the bowl?

No replies to this yet but I am wondering if the whisker is actually designed to scrape directly on the bowl??

I have tried to get a manual on the mixer but to no avail. I would imagine that over time the bowl/attachment clearance would need some fine tuning but I may be wrong.

I would be keen to get some clarity on this matter if anyone can help!

Hi Rossco,

On the Hobart 20qt mixer, the clearance can be increased by turning clockwise the set screw which is tighten upside down on the bowl support inside the pedestal (a little shield located under the bowl support might be removed in order to make this screw reachable). The mixer should be unplugged for this operation.
