Freeze cheese...shred first?
«

Sorry if this has been discussed in the past but... I've read here that people freeze their cheese with no problems. I have frozen shredded cheese with success also. I am looking to purchase a case of cheese and was wondering if the cheese must be shredded before freezing or can an entire loaf be placed in the freezer without shedding it first?
Thanks!

I agree, freeze in block form if you can. But....freezing as fast as possible is also what you want, so just don't freeze a whole 6lb block. I would say one pound blocks is about the right size.

Thanks guys! I was hoping I could freeze it in the block form and I like the suggestion of individual blocks as well.
