Hi.

I've gone to three different Home Depots and a fourth smaller hardware/garden store and none of the customer service people seem to know what a quarry tile is or how to identify it.  The closest thing I can find looks like poured unglazed concrete tiles.  I know I'm supposed to get an unglazed "quarry tile" as a possible pizza stone solution, but where the heck do I actually buy one and under what name/brand/description do they show up in retail or hardware stores?  No one in the hardware nor garden supply centers of the hardware stores knows what I'm talking about.  I'm in the Los Angeles area.

Hope someone can help, thanks.

kodama,

Several members, myself included, have had the same experience. You might want to take a look at this thread, http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,2580.msg22751.html#msg22751, including the posts with photos and UPC/model numbers.

If you use the Advanced search feature of this forum and search for "unglazed quarry tile" (without the quotes), you will find a lot more information on tiles.
