Enjoy your dogs duder!  8)
Yeah, they didn't even switch to potato buns, they are now using crappy regular hot dog buns. My guess is during covid, they couldn't get Vallos Bakery anymore and had to switch to cheap buns, probably lost some of the old customers, but new customers dont know any better. Guess they decided not to switch back. As long as i can still buy their signature chili sauce i have no problem getting better hot dogs and the original buns directly from the source freshly baked that day.

So this is an original Yocco's Dog.

This is a Jimmy dog. Includes a Claussen spear or two.

Local Publix stocks Sahlen's Smokehouse dogs, natural casing, pork and beef.  Work like a charm.  Still I miss my Dearborn Sausage natural casing dogs that are a staple of the Detroit area Coney Island joints.  Dearborn's are available online, along with chili sauce.

Well thanks to jkb informing me Nathans still sells Natural casing i did the research and took the hour drive, and stocked up. Going to portion them out and vaccum seal.
Btw, i grabbed every pack they had at the location. I would have bought more, lol.

Why do people slice/score hot dogs? I want to keep those juices in....... ???

One of my favorite ways to cook a hot dox is to cut X's about 3/4" into each end then toss them into a deep fryer.

Unless the dog has a casing, scoring won't make a meaningful difference on juice retention.
