It's part of my made in the USA fabric. I like them all. Tonight I easily inhaled two of these one-off dogs: marinara sauce, red onion, bell pepper, chillies, crushed chilli flakes, brazilian "catupiry" cheese, dijon mustard. Some finely grated potatoes (fried) on the side (meant to be sprinkled topside) for the crunchy love.

Beautiful!
For me it's mustard and onions. Not really worth a pic, BUT good eatin'. Make mine Hebrew National Kosher, all beef, please.

No Kosher for me.  I gotta have that natural casing "snap".  I usually buy Nathan's or Hofmann.  I'm happily stuck in a Chicago dog rut - pickles, tomatoes, onions, relish, sport peppers, celery seed and French's yellow.

Happy Independence Day everybody! I am from NC and this is how we do hot dogs: mustard, onion, chili and sometimes slaw. No ketchup ever. Regular ol' Oscar Mayer bun length beef dogs.

I haven't seen Natural casing Nathans since covid. I just bought a pack of skinless bun length Nathans on sale and they sucked. I am done with Nathans unless they bring back the natural casing. Dietz and Watson natural casing are the next best thing.

I can get them.  I like the "collosal" 1/4 pounders.

Where? Restaurant Depot used to carry the natural casing. They still sell the skinless versions, but they don't even have a tag for the natural casing anymore. The only natural casing i can get at RD now is Sabrett. Sabrett ain't bad, but Nathans and Dietz and Watson are better.

Dietz and Watson new york style beef franks are great, one of my favorites!  Reminds me a lot of boars head brand.  We can only get the skinless nathan's here.  They're good and all, but the snap just ain't the same.  Slap a couple of dogs in a bolillo roll with some mustard and creamy coleslaw, yeah!

I have never seen small packages of their natural casing. Only large packages at wholesale clubs and RD. Now neither of them carry it. Where are you located, might be a regional item now for some reason.

I went on their website and it looks like they only list natural casing as a 5 pack. Its showing the nearest store is about 16 miles away in NJ. Not sure i want to drive their just for hot dogs, lol

Yep, they must only sell natural casing in NY and NJ now.
Edit, looks like they sell them in PA but in my area its a lot closer to a NJ store that carry's them.

apparently the long time champ was banned this year for sponsoring a rival hot dog brand.

I hear it is because of his new partnership with Impossible Foods but by some strange twist he and Kobayashi will go head to head on Labor Day in an all beef hot dog eating contest.

I'm calling a foul on this. When the reigning champ is prevented from competing, and the winner doesn't eat as many dogs as the reigning champ did in the worst of his 12 wins, you may have a winner, but you certainly don't have a new champ.

This thread got me craving a local staple "yocco's" hot dog. So i went and picked up 4 containers of their signature chili sauce. Why go through all this trouble? Well, sometime after covid, they decided to switch from a chewy hot dog bun ( similar to a italian roll ) to a standard run of the mill grocery store hot dog bun. This is no bueno, so i had to drive over to the bakery they used to get their buns from for over 90 years, Vallos Bakery. Freshly made today, 6 for $1.85 isn't bad considering grocery store $hit dog buns cost $1.50 for an 8 pack.

PapaJawnz

That's a great price for buns.  If I go with grocery buns (not bakery) I get potato buns and they're almost 4 bucks ($3.78)

Enjoy your dogs duder!  8)
