So, after about 2 1/2 years, there is a Now Hiring sign at this Wethersfield location. I guess they solved whatever problems they had.

Not yet. It's on the list. Haven't met anyone who's been there.

Did a mid afternoon take out. Small tomato pie with sausage. Just grated cheese. Price $21.20. First time Sally's pie. My wife and I kind of like the same type of pizza so we pretty much agree on how we found this pizza.

Pretty thin with char on rim. Bottom has the typical burn spots. Good crunch. Tomato was amount overdone for us, little too much, flavor OK. Really could not detect the parm visually or by taste. Put some romano on at home. Sausage just middle of the road. It was sliced. I prefer it out of the casing. Was there enough? Since I'm not use to this type of pie I found the char flavor overpowered the the entire taste. So basically not something we found super special.

The place is nice but I thought maybe it would be more like what I would expect in New Haven. Been to Pepe's and I like that old time feel. Small full bar. Menu more than pizza with chicken dishes etc..

So that's it. Menza menz.

I wish I could try it because from looks alone, it's one of the worst looking pies I've seen. There is literally nothing about that pizza that I'd say looks good. We regularly see first pies from new members here that look way better.

If anyone here has been to one of the newer Sally's I'd be interested in your opinion about the pie I had.

I have a few friends from New Haven that have eaten a lot of pizzas out of the original location.  They tell me that that the MA location pizza is the same as the original.  I trust their judgement.

At the same time this looks like more sauce and less sausage than I would expect.   So... I think the ovens and ingredients and dough methods are interchangeable, but you are at the mercy of the pizza topper for "interpretation" of the amounts to use.   It's probable that at the original location back in the days that it was owned by the Consiglio family the toppers had more consistent or different views on what the proper ingredient amounts are.

IMO, that pizza has some serious crust issues too.

Visited the MA location a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it. My pie looks much better for sure.

Overall the reviews on Google are very good. I think they are a little inconsistent and I hope they will improve. Here's a recent review photo. I don't think I would ever serve that.
