Hi there
Is anyone going this year?
How does it work? You sign up and then take classes or are you busy enough without taking classes?

HansB

I spent most of my time taking classes, attending workshops and demos. There was still enough time to visit all the vendors.

If Scott is doing a pizza tour I'd recommend that too.

"Ultimately, pizza is a variety of condiments on top of bread. If I wanted to evolve, I figured out that I had to understand bread and first make the best bread I possibly could. Only then could my pizza evolve as well." Dan Richer

K, yes Scott is doing a tour. Then I'll book some classes and demos. Are these hands on classes, physically making pizza? Or mostly talking and slides?

The tour is worthwhile. I don't think that there were any hands on classes. Tony G's were demos, but were very good. John Arena's classes were really good too.

If you also do bread, the bread convention is concurrent and your pizza pass gets you in there too. There were a few good bread classes too.

I second what HansB said; Tony's classes are very good. He has both classes and demos; you pay extra for the classes and it is worth it. Not sure if I am going this year, but I went a few years ago and really got a lot out of the experience.

Would love to go, but it would be an 8 hr drive, so no to that, and not ready to get back to traveling by air yet.
Maybe next one.

Pizza Expo 2022 was just great!
The Wiener Tour was really cool.
Metro pizza Sicilian was clearly the best (amazing stuff, I'll get some pans and will try this at home, thanks Chris Decker and John Arena).
Pizza Rock Detroit Style was also great, cracker Style good too but for my taste it was a bit too sweet with the garlic infused agave topping or whatever that was, but crust and sauce was super.
Evel Pizza was ok, regular slices with some exotic toppings, but music and beer was top.
The convention was just great otherwise!
Lots of teaching, demos, nonstop good food hello, all for just 150$!
I'll try to make this my yearly ,,clear my head and just be a Pizza guy" event!
