Maybe it's a manufacturing delay

What is up with this thing? You can give them money for it and theoretically get it in a month or two but they've posted NOTHING on their instagram since the announcement almost a month ago, have seemingly sent out no review models, are currently hyping their memorial day sale for older ovens but are  silent about the supposedly biggest-and-best product theyre launching literally right now. Bizarre!

I'm not gonna be too worried about no review units sent out to the normal YT pizza channels if they have some videos up in a week or 2.  For all I know there's an NDA and when it's lifted a few people already have videos shot and ready to upload.  You would think they would be hyping this up more though, but I have faith because it's Ooni and not a Kickstarter from a company nobody even knows.  With that said, they didn't do a great job with the official launch. I'm hoping for the best here, mostly because I really really want to make a 20" in my backyard lol. And unless I drop a huge amount of $$$ there's no other oven that can do that.

Videos are appearing. Give it a few days and you'll see a lot

Owner of Ooni cooking 3 pizzas at the same time.  He didn't turn the back one at all and only turned the other 2 once. While he didn't show the bottom of any, the top of the one he didn't turn looked good. What kind of sorcery is this?  Maybe that G2 Gas technology they're hyping up is the real deal.  The fact he didn't show the bottom of any of them makes me wonder though. How the bottom looks is crucial, he knows that and we got nothing in this video. It's kind of a disappointing video from a company that only makes pizza ovens.

The fact 3 fit in there so easy is slick though, I can't wait to see somebody review it and show the bottom. It's big but fits on the same Ooni table I have, which is impressive. I hope Ooni already sent one to Santa Barbara Baker.

The ovens shipping, which one of you daddy Warbucks is gonna order it? Still only a couple videos for it on YT and they're not in English.   For as long as Ooni's been around, they sure didn't have a good launch for this.  I'm sure a few of their ambassadors have one. But no videos from anyone in the US and the oven's available to purchase. They're doing almost nothing to build any hype around it. All I can figure is maybe the initial batch was small so they're holding back until they have some stock built up to push it. The fact I can buy it right now and it's not out of stock for something this new is surprising.

On a brighter note, I shouldn't have trouble finding it in stock when I have the $$$ saved up :D

It's the kind of sorcery where he doesn't really show the bottom or top of any pies.  ;)

guy on the Ooni Reddit got his, posted pics of his 1st bake and said this.

New oven just arrived. This is an upgrade from my Ooni Pro. And she is a beauty! For my first bake, I went big... 20" NY pie. Was a big hit with the family. This oven is a game changer. It took 30 minutes to reach 700F

62% hydration. 6hr RT fementation. 1 28oz can of San Marzano tomatoes, 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp salt, 1 tbs sugar. 2 tbs oregano- simmer for 20 minutes.

This was my first time stretching a dough that large and was easier than I thought. Bought a new pizza screen that helped make launching a lot easier. Baked for 2 1/2 minutes then removed screen and baked for 3-1/2 more. Had to turn off the burners to allow the bottom to cook.

First impressions- this is a beautiful oven. Stones are 3/4". It took me 20 minutes to assemble. The dual burners are great with a nice flame. A couple minor items I wish to work with Ooni support to improve/fix include calibrating the temperature to be more accurate. My laser thermometer reading was 70F lower than the LED screen. The right burner also won't stay lit for some reason. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the Koda 2 Max and looking forward to making some other pizzas soon.

IMHO the pizza looks good, but he didn't take any undercarriage shots.

There are posts from users here on the site with a Koda 24" https://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php?topic=85311.msg787474#msg787474

A guy on Reddit made a full 24" pizza in it, the size of these slices are right up my alley.

Looking at Ooni's chart, the Karu 16 uses 1.3/lb of propane an hour and the Koda Max uses 1.6/lb  That sounds almost too good to be true. But according to Ooni, you'll get 12 hours off a tank. They don't specify, but I'm guess that's with both burners on.   I was really expecting to hear that this thing guzzlers propane like nothing else.

25k BTU for the Karu
35k BTU for the Max.

I've had mine on twice and have gone through ~1.4 lbs.  It's not bad on gas at all.

Pretty good mini review video, he went over the main things I've been wondering about.  The stone heats very even, the temp range is wide and with the stone's thickness it needs almost no time to get back to heat. And he tested it using only 1 burner too.

Some of the best bakes I've seen in this oven. Nice 20" pies

That giant pizza at the end he deliberately holds it so you can't see the bottom. I suspect he doesn't want to make another one and 30 minutes preheating is not enough for that thick of a stone

With all the other stuff he cooks, I sometimes forget he's pretty legit when it comes to pizza.  The fact he was able to stretch a 275g ball to 14" is something I couldn't do lol.
That's an interesting video, but it's more like an ad as he doesn't really touch on anything. But, the pizzas both looked good. I agree about the bottom, but the top looks excellent.

This video's recent, he's made a bunch of pizza oven videos in the past. But he's definitely not a pizza guy. I think he usually uses store bought dough. There's nothing wrong with that, I know a lot of people go that route.  It's a pretty good video comparing the Koda vs the Arc XL. He touches on a lot of things I've been wondering about, there's still a few things I'm trying to figure out before I buy one.  The flame on low looks really low, which is good but I'm wondering the temp on low.  IMHO even if you don't care about the extra space, if you have the $200 to spend. The Max seems like it's just the better oven, only having to turn a pizza once is pretty damn sweet and would be worth the $200 to me lol

He shows the bottom briefly and it looks good to me. I'm just waiting on a few more videos and hopefully Ooni will have a 20% for Labor Day, doubtful but maybe. If not, I might be able to hold out until BF which will almost for sure have a 20% sale.  $200 off the oven would be lovely.

Picked up a Ooni Koda 2 Max on sale for $1099CAD/$788.91USD and free shipping.

Sale price seems reasonable and I get to retire 3 propane pizza ovens to the shed which is great.  Also picked up a door on ETSY, supposedly it will bring down the warm up time from 30mins to 12mins.

Incase this might be useful to anyone...here are the links for the Koda 2 Max and the door.

I'm worried I may have to break down and buy this oven.
