I found this article of interest because it gives average sales per store for 50 pizza chains. What I was curious to see was where the really big chains ranked in the list. As it turns out, many of them are pretty far down the list. The list includes a lot of chains that are unknown to me but with impressive average sales per store. No doubt there are a lot of factors involved, including quality of their pizzas, the quality of management, favorable cost structure, a favorable history, and location.

I would have thought many of those would have been higher AUV.

Huh, about Mod: "The price stays the same whether you build your own pie or order off the menu—even if you pile on the toppings." -- my experience was that they were really stingy with everything, even when you asked for more.

But the main thing i remember about that place - which shut down about a week after i tried it - was that the kid working the dough press seemed to be tossing more dough in the trash than not. At least half of the dough balls came out torn.

It wasn't bad just the concept didn't resonate with me at all.

There are many kinds of pizza, and *Most of them can be really good.

Amazing that Western Europe's pizza sales are up by 8.6%, and almost drawing even with North America's overall sale numbers of 58.3B, which I assume includes Canada and Mexico as well.

In other words, pizza is on the rise! It's a good thing!  ;D

Some of the restaurants probably include alcohol in the sales.

Yes, it does seem to be about revenue per store per year, not how much they make on the pizza itself.
