Title: Pizza Tupperware
Post by: slybarman on September 02, 2013, 12:06:56 PM
I need a good reusable system for storing left over slices. Anyone ever tried any of these:

or

Anything else to recommend?

I've tried very similar containers and they're all a pain in the ass to store, the tops break or get lost and they take up a lot of room in the fridge. I've settled on zip-loc type bags to store leftover pizza, if I have to layer it I use a sheet of waxed paper between layers. Truth be told, I don't care for leftover pizza, so I try to avoid having leftovers.

I have been using zip Loc bags but I feel guilty about how many I throw away - even into recycling.

I subcontract that job to the dishwasher.  :)

Now, if I could put the ziploc bags in the dishwasher . . .

be carefull, some of these don't stand up to the heat of a dishwasher very well, the tops warp.

My rule of thumb is: container bottoms go in the top rack and the tops get hand washed. It's not much trouble to wash the lids, they don't get that dirty.

Fwiw - I ended up buying a few of the sistema ones I linked to in the OP. I like them just fine.  Ones with detachable lids would go in the dishwasher a tad bit easier though. In any event they seem well made.

Thanks for the reminder. I also ordered 2, shipping is much more reasonable and I take a couple slices to work every week.

Cool Mark.  Post your impression once you try them out.
