    Being in Canada, not sure if the shipping is going to price them out of contention.

    Has anyone else found "home sized" dough trays (and lids) online?

  • Following as well. Believe it or not, a proper dough box is standing in the way of me making great pizzas. The boxes I've used are too small and I end up ruining at least one dough ball getting it out of the box

    I checked with Solent Plastics, and they quoted me delivery for 2 trays/boxes and 2 lids. The product and devliery were reasonably priced, but the delivery puts this out of my budget.  I said reasonable, just not affordable.
    product: 11 Euro
    delivery: 60 Euro

    So on to sourcing other options.

    I should note that my current solution for dough are Anchor Hocking 4cup round glass food storage "bowls" with tight fitting lids .  I get 1 dough ball per container.  The issue I'm trying to mitigate is extracting the dough ball, without knocking out some of the built up fermentation CO2 from my dough. Or just mangling the dough ball all together. :'(

  • I contacted Solent as well. They sent me an email saying that shipping to Canada was so expensive that they wouldn't even bother selling to me. I am going to ask a friend in the US if I can ship the Doughmate Artisan kit to him and have him ship it up here to me. It's over $50 USD to ship to Canada. And that kit is perfect for me, mostly due to the size of the boxes

  • I also tried something last night that worked pretty well. I only made a 4 ball batch but for proofing, I put the balls on a large plastic cutting board and covered them with small plastic ramen bowls. It wasn't perfect but it totally eliminated the mess I've made of dough trying to get it out of the box and losing all the air and shape in the process. Having no walls helped so much. However, the new dough recipe I tried was so soft that for the first time, I actually threw out a pie that got stuck on the peel. And due to getting stuck as well, another one became a snake-shaped pizza

  • Sheet pans with lids are inexpensive and work well too.
