Title: Mini measuring spoons for dry yeast
Post by: Villa Roma on September 20, 2007, 02:48:52 AM
I found these mini measuring spoons on ebay. I use them when I measure small amounts of dry yeast or salt for my preferments or small batches of dough. They range in size from 1/64 tsp to 1/4 tsp. Search on "mini measuring spoons", cost about $5.

haha love the names.  Pete-zza should incorporate those into his recipe postings - "34.3781232 oz of water and 1 smidgen of IDY"  ;-)

So have you checked out all the new eBay features they just released?  You seem to be a pretty active user.  Check this out if you want: http://playground.ebay.com/ - that will drop a temp session cookie that will allow you to see the new versions of homepage, motors, search, etc. if you don't have it already.

I use ebay quite a bit. Being over here in Germany where they are not big into the consumer thing like back in the states, ebay is great. I can get almost anything I want, usually pretty cheap also.

Ah, Germany!  That is the biggest eBay International site.  It all makes sense now.  :-)

You're thinking of November. He's the only one who posts measurements to >6 significant places.....!

For others, I've seen those spoon sets in a lot of kitchen stores in the US.

Cute measuring spoons. :)
I've seen some of these at a local Paderno outlet. I might pick up a set. I'm never sure if I'm spot on when I need a smidgen of something, hehe.

Here is a link to small & odd size measuring spoons that I found through the Real Baking with Rose website.  I use the odd sizes all the time (1/3 tsp & 1 1/2 tsp etc).  The small sizes have the actual measurement on them rather than saying dash, pinch & smidgen.  They are supposed to be very accurate.

this link is about the ink washing off the spoons - the company retooled the spoons & then automatically sent out new ones to everyone who had purchased them --I received a new set without contacting them!
