I was looking at containers yesterday and found this one http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=850&f=35517 which I thought that was glass in the picture. So long story short I got there and it was SS and painted white on the outside. Now my question is will the SS matter or should I return it and get a glass container. The lady that was helping me out said that her friend had a sourdough that was 70+ years old. She said that her friend told her that you shouldn't keep the sourdough in a SS container.

Edit: Already returned it and bought a bigger glass container, thanks for all the help...

The first two are of the starter after two hours. The last two are of the starter after 4 hours. You can't really see the difference from the two hour and the four hour one with the big jar. The one you can tell it rose in was the small jar. At two hours it is at the 16oz mark then at four hours it is at the 20oz mark.
