I guess the very first step is to make some brand spankin' new Black Raspberry plants...   ;D

I think if you used a saltier crust with a cheesecake pizza it would be amazing. I love the salty sweet thing and cream cheese and sweet fruit is one of my favorites. Why I've never been a fan of the traditional graham cracker crust in cheesecakes.

I'd be willing to try that, RC.  LOL  Of course, using red raspberry or standard strawberry for the fruit would make a cheesecake pizza look more like a real tomato pie but I just absolutely love black raspberries.  There's nothing like eating a big purple handful right off the plant.   ;D

Agreed! Blackberries are another thing that I can just pick and eat by the handful. We have a huge wild growth of blackberries about two miles down the road from my home in Lynn. I take my Jeep off in that holler and could spend hours eating them straight off the vine. Oh, and gotta bring a few back for my grandma to make a cobbler. :-D

Black raspberries similar in flavor to red raspberries or closer to blackberries? Can't say for sure if I've ever tried the black variety.

Although difficult to describe over the internet, RC, the Eastern Black Raspberry has a distinctive and somewhat stronger flavor compared to the various red raspberry species and the Blackberry...

Yeah I did some reading and most said said that they are sweeter than red raspberries but have a little firmer texture to the little nubbins. Or that's what I call them, LOL. If I ever run across any I'll pick 'em up. I have a feeling I've seen them at Whole Foods before and didn't read the label and just passed them up for blackberries. If so it sounds like it's my loss too!
