So I got another batch of Ischia starter, and it is again not melting, but it is in form of rocks. Is this expected? How long does it take to melt, and it is safe to leave it like that in the water while waiting to melt, or should I add the flour right away? Thanks in advance!

So I used mixer in the end to break it, but it still took some time, like 5-10 minutes. Anyway, after first feed the yeast already rised by 50% in 12 hours so it is super active it seems. Not sure should I just stir it as the instructions say or feed again.

Follow the instructions, there’s nothing urgent about a starter.

Uh, so I didnt add anything, mixed it, and it doubled again, but in 1 hour.  :chef: >:D  Seems this one is a keeper.
