fancy thermometer - aim and shoot

Ok I saw a really fancy thermometer awhile back on the site, it was one you point
and shoot ?? ... it picks up the heat from the item and tells you on the screen,

not sure if this thing is within my budget, but anyone know how much something like this costs ? and how accurate are they ?

it looked really high tech.

Btw, I wish that darn MySQL was easier - argh ..... I have a website ready to set up a forum
and I can't get that darn thing to see my database I guess... I went into my control panel,
installed the MySQL thingie properly but the SimpleMachines stuff just doesn't work...  

this is the message I get:
Cannot connect to the MySQL database server with the supplied data.

If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
