Saputo/Biscotto Stones in Australia
« on: February 23, 2021, 03:07:28 AM »
Hi all,

Just wanted to ask all the Australian Members if they had any success with getting Saputo/Biscotto stones?

I'm trying to get one for my Koda 16 but it seems All EU Retailers can't/won't send them here or just out of stock.

Update:

Best place/price I've found for Australians is from: https://www.biscottostones.com/products/biscotto-stone-for-ooni-koda-16

Still very pricey at around $320aud shipped to door

I'm looking for alternatives such as Fire bricks.

You can try fiesoli https://shop.fiesoliarte.com/prodotto/piastra-per-ooni-koda-16/

It's not a real biscotto, it's a different material and more of a terracotta, still people seem to be happy with it.  I have no idea what the transport costs would be.

Thanks Amola, I've already considered them in my research, stone is about 55euro and shipping is 190euro.  :-D

I am in Sydney. Check your local terracotta tile company which they are doing bathroom tile business. Here is my post https://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php?topic=70048.0 . I gave up buying Saputo stone from Italy as the shipping cost is crazy. I will keep posting about the terracotta tile performance.

I forgot all about this Saputo/biscotto finding adventure I had as I've taken a break from pizza making, hopefully getting back into it soon. I look forward to your findings with local materials/suppliers.
