I bought a new biscotto stone for my Effeuno oven and it came with a small-ish crack, please see the attached photo.

I have already sent a message to the seller and I'm waiting for a reply. I'm asking for your opinion just in case it does need to be replaced and the seller plays stupid about it.

I've already done the burn-in process yesterday and baked 3 pizzas today; I'm not seeing any signs of it spreading so that's a good sign.

What do you think, is this perfectly fine or should I insist on a replacement?

Standard statement is that it's a natural product and subject to cracks. Don't know what they will tell you. Looks minor to me and I'm usually picky about new stuff.

I would have also asked for a replacement stone however @Pizza_Not_War is not wrong about the manufacturer disclaimer (EffeUno policy). There's a 50/50 chance the crack wont progress but the only way to make absolutely sure it doesnt is to drill a (small) hole where the crack ends (which may be kinda unwanted considering its purpose).

I've baked 3 pizzas yesterday on the stone and the crack didn't change at all, so hopefully it wont spread in the future. The seller did get back with "it's normal" reply, but that they would still replace the stone if the crack spreads after a few weeks.

Nice to meet some leniency, hope it keeps up.
