Counter Top Spiral mixer SP-5 $600

At one point theses were sold by TMB Baking in San Francisco for $1600.  This single speed mixer is gear and chain driven with a rotating bowl and an incredibly strong motor.  It has never shown me any signs of strain handling any hydration from bagel dough to high hydration focaccia/roman teglia.

I have had good luck mixing anywhere from 3lbs of dough to 11.5 lbs of dough in this mixer.   

Made by Esmach/Avancini in Italy, runs on a standard 110 US power outlet.   Really great condition with the exception of a small blemish in paint on the top that could easily be touched up.  Its not chipped paint, but there is a stain (pictured).    Pickup preferred, but I have a double box with lots of packing so I can safely ship if need be.

Man that is tempting. You're killing me. If you still have it when the quarantines are being lifted, it would be worth the drive.

haha, sorry to tempt with gear!    I can easily do a no contact sale situation.   I have an outlet in my garage and an extension cord so I can have it outside to try out or whatever.

I'm sure it works well and contactless pick up would be fine, it's the trip, the gas stations, going to the bank for cash...all that stuff still seems a forever weeks away.

If you still have it in a month, it's a sign and I'm coming for it.

I owned one as well a few years back & can say that it was built like a tank.  You can also easily retrofit it with a breaker bar if you wish.  Attached are videos that I found with & without the breaker bar.


Does a great job either way & you couldn't be buying it from a better guy.

Still for sale? What’s the smallest batch it can do?

Its still here.  I have had good luck mixing anywhere from 3lbs of dough to 11.5 lbs of dough in this mixer, so about 3 medium NY style pizzas is the minimum.   At that batch size it is very efficient though.   You can certainly go smaller with longer mix times.
