Lillsun peel warped - what to do now?
« on: July 05, 2021, 09:23:08 AM »
Peel got washed last night and was still a bit damp so I let it fully dry and this morning I noticed that the top of the peel had a convex shape . Any suggestions on what to do?

Best... Steve

Wash/rewet both sides. Figure out a weigh to put some weight on both sides and just let it dry....

Wood warps from uneven drying from being wet....
-Anything- wood, minimize water. From day and and after every -wash-, IMO, keep it oiled (mineral oil).
It keeps the wood oiled, less water -absorption- and hopefully, in your scenario, mitigate warping.

When you let it dry, put it elevated (cooking cooling rack, etc) so it drys evenly

Don't know if this works but another method uses heat. Described here.
