Firelli Calabrian Hot Sauce
« on: May 03, 2021, 08:06:01 AM »
I picked up a bottle of Firelli Hot Sauce  and I think the Calabrian Chile fans here will appreciate it.
They are billing it as the first Hot Sauce made for pizza

I saw mention of this on my phone newsfeed one day, and had to try it. Ordered two bottles, and I really love what it adds (although I must confess , I keep forgetting sometimes that I have it in the fridge  when I have pizza!)
*Post It note needed here*. It has a nice flavor with a decent kick, without going thermal on your tongue.

I bought 6 bottles with high hopes and to me...it's ok.

I taste red peppers, balsamic and some mushroom (which are ingredients) the most. The spice doesn't really remind me of calabrian peppers either. For me there is a bit too much going on in a hot sauce. Maybe I'll find some use for it more as a true condiment. I've tried it on eggs and grilled chicken but not pizza.

Craig, message me your address and I'll send you a bottle.

Good deal
I think I paid 8.00 at a bakery
When Craig makes it better, I’ll use his recipe
Could be a little hotter…
