ACME sheeter chain
« on: April 16, 2015, 02:36:33 PM »
Snagged a distressed ACME R-11 sheeter from a former pizza shop owner.  He says he thinks it needs a new chain.  Chain is pretty sloppy, he says it has had links taken out already.  Anyone here have a handle on getting one of these up and running?

Chain is likely a standard pitch.  A place like McMaster Carr has that kind of stuff and ships quickly.  http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-roller-chain/=ws5evz

The sprockets may have a lot of wear, and that will likely be more difficult, as they may not be off the shelf items.  McMaster has standard sizes also.
All the best, Dave

I think the tensioner needs some juju.  Chain lacking in tension.  Not sure how it's adjusted.  Kinda wondering about the bearings.

The idler spring should work from front, unlike its current arrangement.
