Cinnamon Bun Pizza . . . It's better than it sounds
« on: September 11, 2007, 04:59:42 AM »
I've been experementing quite a bit with dessert pizze (much to the detrement of my gut), and the cinnamon bun pizza is phenomenal, right up there with nutella pizza, if not better! I basically bake the shell, then spread on some cinnamon spread with a knife. I used a commercial cinnamon spread, but you could easily make your own with cinnamon, sugar and butter. Then I pipe on cream-cheese icing (cream-cheese, butter, icing sugar). The residual heat of the shell causes everything to melt and get gooey. Mmmmm. Cut and devour; it is a real hit.

Domino's in the UK did something like this. A base was cooked with cinnamon sugar and you got 'icing' dip to go with it. Tasted Awesome. Don't know if they still do it or not.

ohm,

I'm not sure which recipe you are looking for but you might check out Reply 131 at http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,6758.msg80989.html#msg80989. For comparison with the real thing (at Papa John's), see http://www.papajohns.com/menu/popup_cinnapie.shtm.

I made a batch of dough on Sunday and something went wrong. It was too wet and sticky. I have no clue what I messed up on, but it wasn't as it should have been. So I decided to make a new batch properly, while I still had the Kitchen Aid out.
Instead of throwing away the "mistake" dough, I just put it into a container in the refrigerator. I couldn't believe it the next day. It rose so much the cover was restricting it.
I took a piece of of it and attempted to make a pizza yesterday for lunch. It came out amazing! (I took a picture but then got a new phone and I hadn't backed it up to the cloud so I don't have it)
This morning, I decided to take another piece of the dough and I just made a dessert pizza. Cinnamon & brown sugar with melted butter. I only have a picture of one piece.
Can anyone say Cinnabon!!! OMG it was delicious!!!!!!!
Next time I will roll it up like a real bun and see how it comes out.
