GI Metal Peel - Smoothing the end?
« on: July 15, 2021, 01:33:40 AM »
Hi all,

Wondering if any of you have filed down/smoothed the end of your metal peels. I have a few GI metal peels that after a lot of use and banging around. have knicks and divots in the end that cause them to catch the dough during loading. I assume I could somehow file down/sand/smooth out the metal at the end? Any thoughts here? Thank you!

I don't have a GI metal peel, but my Americal Metalcraft metal peel had quite sharp edges and I tore up a few bottoms with it. I just sanded it to make a curved edge and that solved the problem.

Yup, a fine file and fine sandpaper should get you back in business...
