DIY outdoor brick pizza oven
« on: September 12, 2021, 02:07:10 PM »
Hi, looking at building an outdoor brick pizza oven, but other than a few Youtube videos, haven't found a great deal of information.
Anyone have any good articles they can point me to with regards; words of advice, best style, must have features, build design, materials, finishes etc?
Much appreciated.

*Edit- I am UK based, with regards materials etc.

I have not built any, buy if you post your budget, that might help others that have built one or know of kits in your price range.

My 2 cents, as someone who has talked to a lot of people who have either built their own oven or had a mason build one; get a kit. I get about 2-3 calls every month from those who have built their own or had a contractor build one that is falling apart. I do not get those calls from people who have purchased kits. Also I want to point out the price is fairly negligible on a DIY kit when you factor in the time to build your own vs. building a kit. Building your own will probably take several weeks and a kit should be 1-2 days. There is a lot of great reputable companies that sell them, Forno Bravo comes to mind as one of the most popular here in the states. We also have a DIY Kit, but don't expect it to be available for another 2 months or so.
