Flavorful brand of fresh mozzarellaa for NP pies?

Hey everyone,

I have tried Belgoioso fresh mozz, local supermarket fresh mozz, Garafolo DOP Buffalo milk fresh mozz (see pic below) on NP pizzas.


Is fresh mozzarella NOT supposed to have/impart flavor to the pizza?  Because the above 3 fresh mozzarellas did not seem to have any flavor and all essentially tasted the same (though, there WAS a difference in the melt/texture).  Is this common in the NP world?  Is this the norm?


I was even considering adding some whole milk low moisture mozzarella to add some flavor to the cheese.


What [fresh] mozzarella cheeses do you recommend for NP pizzas?

Fresh mozzarella is very neutral tasting.  That's how it is supposed to be. 
You can always add flavor by using a variety of different cheeses (won't be 'true' Neopolitan but who cares).

I like laying down some garlic oil, grated parm then sauce, then cheese. 

Can always add Olives, Calabrian Chilies, Lemon, Sardines, fresh garlic, onions to get your flavor. 

I like a mix sometimes of mozzarella cheese, sharp provolone, fontina cheeses.  Gouda is great too.  I started using some smoked cheeses too.

Anything goes.
