Since I’m on my pizza quest at home I figured I would stop by some local spots to do recon.  Swung over to Joes for lunch today. 

A little disappointed as it wasn’t super fresh but it still tasted great.  I’ve been documenting my slices so I can work on my own.

I love Joes but as I've continued on in my own pizza journey, I find their sauce way too sweet but I would never turn down a slice from Joes. Scarr's definitely has a better slice IMHO.

This is the impossibility of going to New York for me.

I plan on going to Lucali, Best Pizza, Scarrs, and would love to try others but damn is it difficult to try and hit it all in one go.

I live here and haven’t been to all of them.  I grew up in midwood and I’m not even sure if I have ever been to DiFaras!  Growing up there were pizzerias everywhere so you really didn’t travel to get pizza.  Now there’s less in the areas I grew up in and it ranges from really good to really bad.  The best spots are still going so it is good. 

I haven’t tried Scarrs yet or lucali.  Gotta make a trip to prince street soon.  It was close to my old office before we moved. Now I’m closer to Joe’s.

Thats all great pizza, but I keep hitting all the top contenders and the one thats the most magical for me is the mamas too squares.  Its a must hit... really!   Prince st is good for squares too, and a solid round, but this is next level
