Title: Papa Johns
Post by: stamina888 on December 30, 2020, 01:53:42 PM
Tried Papa Johns for the first time today.  Stuffed cheese crust pie with roma tomatoes as topping.

The crust is soft and bready, doughy.  It's less firm and crunchy than it looked in pictures.  Structure is neither firm nor excessively droopy.  The cheese is okay.  There's very little sauce, almost non-existent and it's flavor isn't super noticeable, but the fat on the dough is enough to keep it tender.

The pepper and garlic butter are a nice little free addition to make it stand out.  The pepper I like.  Garlic butter, however, is redundant.  It doesn't complement this pie, as it already has a lot of dairy and fat on it.  It just makes it taste like more of what it is.

It's not bad at all.  It's a bomb of macronutrients.  I love it.  But it lacks flavor.  No part of it is flavorful.  Maybe that's what makes it inoffensive to the masses.
