NY Times: "The very best clam pizza I've ever had"

For me, there was never greater validation than when the New York Times mentioned my pizza.  I love New York Magazine and of course I worship at the altar of Michelin, but the NYT's is very special to me.


"The Cherrystone clams, delivered fresh from Connecticut, are served orange-pink, succulent and whole, yielding easily to every briny bite."

Phone ringing off the hook for reservations. I'm very much enjoying the ride...

Thanks for all the kind words.  We got crushed today and I don't think it's gonna let up for a while.  All good.

Eater NY picked up the story as well.

The moral of the story is:  follow your vision and tune out the noise.  I said if I was doing a clam pie, I WAS DOING A CLAM PIE.  No compromise.  Had to be hand-shucked and if you wanted it - I'm not selling cheap.  So yeah, I'm gonna bang you for $55.  If that's not an option, I do a $3 slice.  Approachability is very important to me.

The greatest compliment I've gotten is from a lady who said:  "This is the best $3 you can spend in all of New York City"

I love Antonio and respect his reviews. He's got a great style.

We talked a couple of weeks ago - it's gonna happen sooner than later. But it'll be a different type of "review" because we know each other now. That speaks volumes about his credibility...
