Which POS??

I am actually opening in about 6 weeks  :P  Very excited but the POS is a concern.  We want to use our own equipment (CPU) and add on the much needed pieces (register, screen, printer) and dont want to be stuck with a system we will not be able to use with something else.  We will have take-out, delivery, and pick up (no dine in).  And would like the POS to work with quicken, possiably a map software (MS Maps or Trips 2005).  Needs to be something simple to use, easy to take orders, and also have a great back office.  I need reports, invintory, time cards, clock in and out, and able to store database in MS Squl format.  I would also like it to have a good service plan (tech support).  Any suggestions out there?? What do you all use.

I know a guy who used one called "ABC POS" or something like that. It was cheap, but he had all kinds of issues with it. He eventually realized that he wasted his money on it, so I would avoid that one.

Well, been very busy lately, but finally got open.  We decided to go with Dimond Touch POS, but since my husband is a computer expert we saved about 4 to 5k doing all the programming and building ourselves.  Allthough it took alot to convience Dimond Touch to work with us and allow us to do this.  We love the POS, but customer service needs a little work.  Good work though.  Thanks all!  And Good luck with all you do.   ;D

I spent over 2 years two find a POS that worked well with our larger complexed menu.

I tried the $599.00 one you see in the mags but it is not employee friendly and you have to program it all yourself. Took me weeks to do. :'(

with our menu having  lots of varations on it,  for example subs having special orders ect. The diamond touch system seemed to be the best at that aspect. And was employee frindly which you need with a constant revolving of employees :-D

As far as tracking customers and support of  that area of tracking things, is below satisfaction. :(
And it is very costly system. :o
