Accounting software

I'll be opening my pizzeria in August and am wondering which accounting software you guys/ gals are using? I'm going to use tablet based Shopkeep POS and will probably have a Mac computer to keep all my records. I've used quickbooks before but was wondering if there are better options out there.

I am a "Point of Success" Fanboi. Learned about it at PMQ, tried standard, loved it, beta tested latest premium edition, love it even more
The reports available are great, and get to see realtime labor cost on the fly. I just save reports in PDF format and email them to the accountants.

I'd be very weary of a web-based system, if your ISP goes down, you're hosed! I'd also be concerned about PCI compliance too.

I can run tablets off my system now, but no need since we are counter service

I'll have to take a harder look at Point of success as I have seen that on Pmq. I use square at our coffee shop and it's great for our setup but will not work well for a dine in pizzeria. Thanks for the feedback

I used Square for a bit, lack of support killed that for me. I had a cashier over charge a customer, I caught it during closing, and I was unable to do a partial refund , no phone to call, so I sent emails, got canned responses for a week. I finally got in touch with support and I was told that it was now too late to fix it.
Had enough!

Well, when I called them they quickly offered to match Square, I said that I am not looking to make a lateral move, but want to reduce my fees, and I am shopping. They came up with some very palatable rates.

Dealing with CC processors is very similar to haggling over the price of a used car at a shady buy here/pay here car dealership. They are all trying to screw everyone, and we are trying to not get screwed.
So do a little research, and use your research to negotiate decent rates.
Do NOT let them know that your POS software has their processing embedded until after the contracts are signed, it'll help you get a better deal
