To Go containers for Bar Pizza
« on: February 20, 2016, 07:16:17 PM »
I am on a high and low search for what are (seemingly) those thick, corrugated or compressed paper "pie plates" that New England bar rooms use to package pizza to go.  The search seems futile. I find plenty of boxes online, but I want the two plates and a paper bag authenticity that the real pizza places use. Can you help me?

Cordially,
Wendy

I think what you are looking for are called molded fibre plates. They use to call them "Papyrus Plates" around these parts (South of Boston) an area well known for "Bar Pies". I've noticed less people use them these days but two "Papyrus Plates" sandwiching a pie then put into a paper bag was the norm for a "Bar Pie" years ago. Search for the brand name Savaday 10" Plate and You should get what you are looking for. Amazon has them but I think they can be found cheaper........https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002ZWOMK/?tag=pmak-20

Are you having problems finding the bags, or just the circles?

I was able to get our bags through "Roma Distributing" but they have a $650.00 minimum order, since I could not meet that minimum due to us buying our cheese and tomatoes from one of my current providers, I was able to piggyback my order onto the order of another restaurant that uses them exclusively for all their product.

Are you friendly enough with a place that uses that exact product to get info from them, or be able to share orders to save you both some coin?

That's exactly what she's looking for.  Sadly, I can't find them anywhere, and $80 seems a lot to pay for that little bit of authenticity.  Not even my local Restaurant Depot has them.

Wendy hasn't been on the forum for over a month.  Maybe she found what she was after.

So maybe check them out too.
