My mixer looks identically, also from underneath, except from the motor. My statement about black = 5L brushs and silver = 10L brushless referred to the 230V version for the european market. It may be different for the US. I haven't seen this black+silver motor so far.

80% hydration NP dough.

Something tells me that I better convert this to pan pizza but I have had enough for tonight.

NP has been a long while for me...I should of just pushed 70% hydration.

It looks like the de minimis exemption was temporarily stayed in the US.  I advise anyone trying to get these mixers to decide quick if they want one unless they want to pay $50-100 more for an item that may or may not be what they want  :-D

Also does the 5L motor for this not being brushless means it makes more noise than the 10L version? I assumed both would be quiet as video demonstrations showed but if the 5L version is louder then....

Quote from: slotti on Yesterday at 05:36:14 PMAfaik the silver motor is brushless, has 750W and is used for the bigger 10 litre mixer.
Whereas the black motor is not brushless, has less power and is used for the smaller 5 litre mixer.
Depending on the supplier the power is stated either with 370W or 400W.

i wonder if these vendors can upgrade the motor to a brushless for an extra amt? also not sure if a powerful motor will help in anyway for a smaller mixer.

Quote from: Muddy on Yesterday at 12:27:01 PMMe too. It would be great to finally KNOW (versus speculate) if the machines are actually the same or different. I haven't seen much real evidence from those on either side of the argument. As the saying goes, "Without data, you are just another person with an opinion" - W. Edwards Demming

Chopper01:  Are you going to 1) keep it, 2) sell it, 3) paint it red, or 4) something else?

I was being silly earlier, I'm keeping this spiral mixer, I like the looks and this color the best.
