Loose = The bolts are loose.
There = He is there now.
Their = They have their things.
They're = They're going to the mall.
To = They came to the house.
Too = That's too bad.
Two = 2.
Your = Your dinner is ready.
You're = I hope you're kidding.
Than vs. Then = If you score more points than the other team, then you will win the game.
Principal vs. Principle = The high school Principal is a man of principles.
It’s vs its = It’s beautiful in its own way.

Welcome to the new Detroit Style board!
Thank you. I was going to like your earlier post but it does not seem to be an option on the new DS board. Just checked and it shows up for me in other styles/boards.

Here's a celebratory Detroi-cillian or Sicilitroit or whatever the heck you want to call this Frankenstein amalgamation.

Actually, before it caught on nationwide, here in Michigan it was just called a square pizza. Pretty simple, you ordered round or square...

Was going to suggest a couple of stickies, but....never mind. They're already there.   ;D

Hans,

Steve and/or Bill did it. I was going to volunteer but hadn't gotten around to doing it because my regular duties have increased quite a bit because of Covid-19. The Sicilian board still has 14 pages of posts and I suspect that there are still some Detroit style threads in that board but perhaps not so named. I plan to scour the Sicilian board to try to find them, and move them over to the Detroit Style board if warranted.

Hans,

Thank you for your kind remarks. We have a unique and extremely comprehensive forum unlike anything I have ever seen. And it is global in nature, with members who have registered from over 139 countries. But it does take a lot of work to manage it.

In line with my last post, I went through the Sicilian board threads this evening and found about a dozen more threads that were not identified as being Detroit style in the topic headings but were really Detroit style. I moved the threads over to the new Detroit Style board.

I also found several other threads that were improperly posted on the Sicilian board and moved those threads to their more appropriate homes.

Big thanks. I'm pretty sure I would have gone nuts (or even nuttier) without being able to check in on the forum constantly.

i tortured myself with this conundrum when i went to buddy’s. would i seem like a rube if i ordered a “detroit pie” in Detroit? no one orders a NY bagel or a NYC slice in NYC.

In the end, like most things in my life, i decided i was overthinking it. and then  proceeded to make a fool of myself when i finally ordered “i’ll have an, umm, uh d d, i’ll have a pizza”

was on vacation this week with long ago now Covid cancelled plans. Left my house 630am wednesday and drove to Buddy's for lunch! First time using the app so I got a buy one get one free 4 square, couldn't find just plain cheese on app LOL, was easy to order Gus and Detroiter. Both were excellent. Hans reply 115 crust is spot on. I need to source some better cheese, I liked the munster and some aged stuff I had used but that Wisconsin brick was better. I'm not sure what the Sicilian spice blend is but its great on pizza. Drove 700 miles that day for pizza.
