Thankfully, not true. The portion of the business owned by a different investment group was bought out by a new investment group. The family still owns the majority.

I recently ordered some of their frozen deep dish pies and they were excellent. I also sent some to my daughter in Brooklyn. Her boyfriend is from Chicago and went to Malnatis often with his late father, and he was very pleased with the pies.
