I've usually just put the dough cheese and toppings in the pan and let it all cook together. But I've found that the crust was just a little bit too mushy.
Recently, I've tried precooking crusts in a 500 degree oven, at various times. I was happiest with the crusts I precook for about 2-4 minutes. Parts of it should be somewhat cooked, but other parts of it should still be doughy. This is enough bake to give it a little bit of a crisp and chew, while also being soft and fluffy on the inside.
