Title: Bought a Pizza Party!
Post by: soundgardeners on November 05, 2014, 01:30:11 PM
It took a little while to get here, no thanks to FedEx who refused to be the freight carrier, so I had to wait while it cleared customs then eventually made its way from NJ to Baltimore (it took a much shorter time to get from Italy to NY, then NJ to MD), so it was a little over 3 wks from order to receiving it.

Set up was very easy (once we realized the stand instructions were inside the oven) and we've used it a few times so far. We got the package deal, with multiple peels. It lights pretty easy, and after watching some of the videos, we got the hang of moving the fire back.

We are pizza newbies, so we have been buying dough balls from some of the local Italian markets here (less variables to deal with!) and have made 5 pizzas and 1 calzone (was going to be a Mexican pizza that got a bit too wet for the peel, but worked great once we made a calzone (a Mexican pizza burrito?) from it.

It looks really nice (we got the red one) , and our neighbors and friends have been pretty enamored with it.

I wanted to post a review here, since the other review posts were what lead me to take the plunge and buy it. Looking forward to making our own dough and also cooking other dishes/breads in it, and finding out other ways to use it!

Elsa, welcome to the ever growing, slowly, group of PP users. I hope you enjoy it as much as I and others here. BUT, are you sure you really got it? ??? :o  I must have missed the pics in your post! :-D  HA HA HA.
