I made a NY style white pizza.

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum and decided that it was finally time to post. I had been lurking around throughout the past month learning as much as I could.

Recently, I obtained a baking steel and started making pizza. My first 3 pizzas were were not so great, but this 4th one came out perfect; it must have been a fluke.

Pizza recipe inspiration:


The dough was retarded for around 48 hours.

I brushed the rim of the dough with a melted butter mixture of dried oregano, fresh garlic, and parmesan cheese before baking to give the crust a garlic bread flavor.

I topped the pizza with fresh mozzarella, real Parmigiano-Reggiano, ricotta, caramelized onion, and a drizzle of olive oil.

For my fellow photography nerds, these photos were shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens, and a single Paul C. Buff Einstein unit.

Looks awesome, especially the crust. Was it leavened with IDY or some sourdough culture?

Looks awesome, especially the crust. Was it leavened with IDY or some sourdough culture?

I used Fleischmann's Active Dry Yeast and retarded the dough for 48 hours.

I like the idea of doing a white pie, looks like you did a great job with pinellos tips. I want to try one soon.
